on Sunday night 17, i scrambled and stuffed all my beach wear into the lil black bag and went to the Mall. YAY! Redang at last!! When i arrived there i thought it would be weird to walk around with a trolly bag so i went to Legend Hotel (da 5 star hotel beside the Mall) to the concierge and wanted to drop my bag off at the luagage storage services. So the officer-in-charged ask me all the normal details like what time i'm going to collect, name, etc. and then he asked "whats ur room number?" immediately i was like "HUH?" okkk dun laugh but then i didnt expect that at all..and i was silent for a while..and then said "uhh..cant really remember..too many things running in my mind"..followed by a 1 sec silence.." i really cannot remeber!" and luckily he said "its ok". phew! tat was close..never ever use the luagage storage service at 5 star hotels ever man..so that basically started my journey. at 9.30 i met up with Sky and we both board the bus. We're lucky we had a nice bus..VIP seats..very comfortable.

After 7 hours of bus and 5 stops, we finally reached K. Trengganu bus station. it was 5.30 a.m. both friggin tired and sleepy...waiting for the bus drive to come pick us up. Apparently he made us wait another 1 hour and finally at 7 we reached Ping Anchorage's travellers lodge. My 1st meal was toast bread with scrambled eggs..costs a friggin RM3.30 k! 8am sharp, the Redang Kalong driver picked us up and we're finally at the jetty. Sky cannot stop talking to people around, like couples or foreigners. He got to know a pair of Singaporean youths and a Korean couple. basically playing the role of a translator and socializing agent. hahahahaha!! but then it was fun getting to talk to different people. Some were interested some weren't but it didnt seem to bother his enthusiasm to talk..so..i guess he still enjoys it. hahahhaha!
40 minutes of boat ride and we finally reached Redang Kalong. It was a timber resort, basically everything timber. the receptionist greeted us and gave brief note, then we went into resepctive rooms to rest. 2pm we got ready for the 1st snorkelling trip!! I got to know Jo, this 'budak laut' whos working there..he shared a few stories..very nice and easy to warm up to. He told us stories about snorkellers and divers, tragedies and incidents, information about redang..etc...
our 1st snorkelling trip was somewhere in the middle of the sea...going snorkelling for the 1st time really freaks me out but once we're at the sea, hey its like a huge aquarium! i saw loads of fishes and corals, particularly the fire coral..very nice. After the snorkelling trip was tea time. man..everything taste goood when u're having vacation. I particularly loved the room as it was a sea view room and u could have the whole place to yourself. its like a private beach...very very nice. at 5 pm we walked to the other 'happening' site which is Pasir panjang beach where Laguna Redang and the Momo cha tea house was. there were soooo many ppl there despite being a weekday! i am surprised! Momo cha is just a souvenir shop and a karaoke on the top. The beach in pasir panjang is much nicer compared to the beach at my resort...but then again the resort looks nicer. hahahhaa...
7 pm back to the resort...all tired and sticky. time for dinner!!! food again! then at night both of us played pool..i guess tats enough for the 1st day..

today's to Marine Park! marine park is like 15 mins boat ride away from the resort. its superb! loaaadds of fishes there..we were given like 5 pieces of bread each and all the fishes will clamour around u to fight for the bread. just have to be careful or else it mite bite u! the corals there is beautiful too! i saw the anemone, 'Nemo''s lil home..very very nice. Nemo looks so small in tat. 2nd snorkelling trip was ok too..by that time i was already quite tired so we swam around..Jo brought a lil gal to see turtles, but we didnt see much. it looked more or less the same. At night we challenged each other Jenga! Guess who won? hahahahahahahahhahah ME!! we were both trying to topple each other, making each other lose the game..it was really fun! and then there's the public karaoke..and sky made friends with another bunch of penang ppl from Ogawa company. man! he just lovessss to make new friends. neways it was super fun! we had ice cream by the beach and was swinging on the hammock.

last day in Redang island. We went to the Marine park again due to the program scheduled. It was better than yesterday as we went to another side of the sea. This time we saw the Giant Garupa! it was huge! looks like a tyre to me..hahhaha..feeding the fishes was fun too. too bad no cameraman to take pictures...its just fabulous. the sniper fishes will give way when u swim past them and the ikan bilis forms an opening for u to swim pass. the water was sooo crystal clear that one could even see fishes from the boat! i didn't know Malaysia had such nice and lovely beaches. Wonderful! 2nd snorkelling trip was even more fun! this time i had the guide, Jo to bring us around. At 1st i was reluctant to snorkel, kinda tired and bored with the same stuff. But this time it was different. i was lucky to be able to see a 1metre shark, swimming like 2 meters away from me..kinda freaked out but Jo assured me that it was fine. then i spotted another unsual fish, the horned fish..the unicorn version without the horse..can u picture that? ahahahahaha..then jo picked up like three types of sea cucumber. the 1st one was black..all black with mild spikes..looks gross and he tried to ask me to hold it..yikes! i swam away as far as i could. both the men were pushing me to touch that grossy black thing. i was petrified ok! its looks just like a larger version of a black caterpillar. Gross! then it was the soft luqiudish sea cucumber with spotted skin. slimy and slippery. uugggh....and the final one is like a rock, covered with soft moss..again Jo made me touch and hold it. gee...he tried his best to trick me into holding it but failed..nyeh nyeh..penakut, timid, loser, whatever names i'm not gonna hold it man! hahahahahahahah!! this night i rested early after a couple of songs, i just loved Redang..

the boat came at 12 sharp to pick us up from the resort...its bye bye time! i just hate it! befriended the boss of the resort, who tried to coax me into taking the diving package. i'd love to but then the lack of resources obstructed my wishes so..prolly next time. after 2 hours, we're back at ping anchorage. Dropped the stuff off at the traveller's inn and went out to KT town for a walk. it was such a HOT! day i was sweating like a pig. there are many batik stores in KT, i managed to buy a Redang shirt from the central market. then we went to China town. it was just a row of old shophouses with souvenir stores and travel agents. Sky was dying to buy the keropok lekor so we backtracked to central market and did a bit of 'marketing' there. all had good bargains! on the way back, i was already showing a sour face as it was soo hot and i was tired. We looked around and tried to find for a taxi, but there were none! so the next best thing was the trishaw...slow and expensif..5 bucks for the 10 mins ride..and the old old oldest ah pek was riding it slowly..huh! what an experience..
at 7.30 we went to find nasi dagang and nasi kandar...the driver dropped us at a small stall. the nasi kandar was gooooood man..i luv it! just love to makan!! hahahahaha!! last meal before my vacation ends.
at 9.00 we boarded the bus back to KL. When the bus moved, i bid farwell to KT and to Redang..i left but the memories will stay forever...wonderful! *muaks!*
